Way too many things happen in a school that are hilarious, ridiculous and need to be part of the general discourse. Not only are the students unpredictable, insane and absurd, but teachers are an interesting breed as well.
It really seems like you have the young (4 or fewer years teaching) or the lifers (15+ in education). Each which brings its own set of thoughts, philosophies and experiences. The personalities of those who get into teaching are as varied and idiosyncratic as students'.
This blog intends to look at the personalities, and lives of the students, the teachers, and of course when they intersect. The school is a fascinating wonderland where social workers, councilors, administration, parents, audiologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, tutors, student teachers, custodial staff, educational assistants, secretaries, outside contractors and of course students and teachers attempt to cooperatively helps the young become well adjusted functioning adults.
A vibrant place where ideas are placed into action and lives take shape schools are microcosms of the world, just more dramatic, and funny.
